Experience an Authentic Full Day Tour Ubud with Bali Tour Drivers

(For background on the site itself, see the Wikipedia entry on Goa Gajah.)

A Full Day Tour Ubud is one of the most rewarding ways to discover the cultural heart of Bali. Instead of rushing from one attraction to another, a private tour allows travelers to experience each destination comfortably while learning about Balinese traditions from a local driver. Whether you are interested in temples, waterfalls, cultural performances, or hidden places, a Full Day Tour Ubud offers the perfect balance between nature and culture.

Recently, our Bali Tour Drivers team had the pleasure of accompanying a lovely couple from France during their private Full Day Tour Ubud. The guests were staying at Pita Maha Ubud and planned to move to Kuwarasan by Pramana Experience later in the afternoon. Rather than traveling directly between hotels, they wanted to spend the day exploring some of Ubud’s most iconic attractions, including the famous Barong Dance, Batuan Temple, Tegenungan Waterfall, Tibumana Waterfall, and Goa Gajah Temple.

As local drivers who have guided international visitors for many years, we always personalize every Full Day Tour Ubud according to our guests’ schedule and interests. Throughout the journey, we helped them purchase tickets, explained Balinese culture, assisted with traditional temple clothing, recommended the best viewpoints, and captured memorable photographs along the way.

Full Day Tour Ubud Itinerary

Morning Pickup at Pita Maha Ubud

Our Full Day Tour Ubud began at 8:30 AM with a pickup at Pita Maha Ubud. Since the couple would be checking into a different hotel later that day, they checked out before the tour started. Their luggage was safely stored inside our comfortable private vehicle, allowing them to enjoy the entire day without worrying about transportation or hotel logistics.

The weather was pleasant, making it an ideal morning for sightseeing. After confirming the itinerary together, we headed toward Batubulan Village, home of Bali’s famous Barong Dance performance.

The drive from Pita Maha Ubud to Batubulan took approximately 40 minutes through local villages, traditional houses, and beautiful rice fields, giving our guests an enjoyable introduction to Balinese daily life.

Watching the Famous Barong Dance at Puseh Temple Batubulan

Helping Our Guests Enjoy the Performance Comfortably

We arrived at Puseh Temple around 9:10 AM, well before the performance started. One of the advantages of arriving early is having enough time to organize everything comfortably without rushing.

Before the show began, I personally helped the guests purchase their entrance tickets. Since they were from France, I also collected the official Barong Dance story booklet written in French so they could easily understand every scene during the performance.

Small details often make a big difference during a Full Day Tour Ubud, so I also selected seats that provided an excellent view of the stage while avoiding direct sunlight. The guests appreciated this thoughtful arrangement because they could enjoy the performance comfortably throughout the morning.

The Barong Dance tells the timeless Balinese story of the battle between Barong, representing goodness, and Rangda, representing evil. Accompanied by traditional gamelan music, colorful costumes, dramatic movements, and expressive performances, the show offers visitors an unforgettable introduction to Balinese Hindu culture.

The performance ended at approximately 10:30 AM, and the couple told me they really enjoyed both the story and the music.

Visiting the Historic Batuan Temple

Learning Balinese Traditions

After leaving Batubulan, our Full Day Tour Ubud continued to the beautiful Batuan Temple, one of Bali’s oldest and most respected temples.

Before entering the temple grounds, I helped both guests wear traditional Balinese sarongs (kamen) correctly as a sign of respect for local customs. Many international visitors appreciate receiving guidance about temple etiquette, and explaining these traditions is an important part of every Full Day Tour Ubud we provide.

Inside the temple, the couple admired the detailed stone carvings, ancient shrines, traditional split gates, and peaceful courtyards. The temple’s centuries-old architecture reflects Bali’s rich spiritual heritage and remains an active place of worship for the local community.

To help them preserve their memories, I also assisted in taking photographs at several beautiful locations, especially at the impressive entrance gate where the intricate carvings created a stunning background.

Exploring Tegenungan Waterfall

One of the Most Popular Waterfalls Near Ubud

At around 11:00 AM, we continued our Full Day Tour Ubud to Tegenungan Waterfall.

Located only a short drive from Ubud, Tegenungan is famous for its powerful waterfall, lush tropical surroundings, and excellent photography opportunities.

Together we walked down the pathway leading to the base of the waterfall. Although the staircase requires some effort, the beautiful scenery makes the walk worthwhile.

Unlike many visitors who choose to swim, the French couple preferred to stay dry. They spent their time enjoying the scenery, recording videos, taking photographs, and listening to the relaxing sound of the cascading water.

The waterfall was flowing beautifully, creating a refreshing atmosphere surrounded by dense green vegetation. They commented that the natural beauty made them feel completely immersed in Bali’s tropical landscape.

Discovering the Peaceful Tibumana Waterfall

A Hidden Gem Surrounded by Nature

Around 1:00 PM, we left Tegenungan and drove approximately 40 minutes toward Tibumana Waterfall.

Compared with Tegenungan, Tibumana offers a much quieter and more peaceful atmosphere. Many travelers choose this waterfall because of its calm environment and beautiful jungle scenery.

We followed the scenic walking path through coconut trees, bamboo, and tropical plants before reaching the waterfall.

Although the couple again decided not to swim, they enjoyed spending time taking photographs and videos while appreciating the peaceful surroundings. The soft sound of the waterfall combined with the natural forest created a relaxing experience that contrasted nicely with the more energetic atmosphere at Tegenungan.

We completed our visit around 2:00 PM and returned to the parking area.

An Unexpected Stop at Goa Gajah Temple

Adding One More Cultural Experience

Since we still had enough time before hotel check-in, the guests asked if there was another interesting temple nearby.

As a local driver who knows the Ubud area well, I recommended Goa Gajah Temple, one of Bali’s most fascinating archaeological sites.

The couple immediately agreed.

Upon arrival, they were amazed by the impressive cave entrance carved directly into the stone. Inside the temple complex, they discovered peaceful gardens, sacred pools, ancient statues, and a spiritual atmosphere unlike anywhere else they had visited that day.

They especially mentioned how much they enjoyed the pleasant fragrance of incense throughout the temple grounds, which made the experience feel even more peaceful and authentic.

Goa Gajah became one of their favorite destinations during the entire Full Day Tour Ubud, proving that sometimes the unplanned stops become the most memorable.

Comfortable Transfer to Kuwarasan by Pramana Experience

After finishing our visit to Goa Gajah at approximately 3:00 PM, we continued directly to their new accommodation, Kuwarasan by Pramana Experience.

The drive back toward Ubud was smooth and relaxing.

We arrived at around 4:00 PM, giving the couple plenty of time to complete their hotel check-in and enjoy the rest of the afternoon.

They thanked us for organizing the day so efficiently and appreciated that every destination was visited without feeling rushed.
