A private Full Day Bali Tour from Ubud is a great way to explore several of Bali’s highlights in one comfortable day. For families travelling with children, a private tour also offers more flexibility to enjoy each destination at their own pace.

Recently, our Bali Tour Drivers team had the opportunity to arrange a private full-day tour for a family of four from England. The group consisted of two adults and two children. Their driver, Kadek, accompanied them throughout the journey from the morning until they returned to their hotel in the afternoon.

The family wanted to experience a combination of Bali’s nature, countryside, mountain scenery, adventure, and culture. Their itinerary included Swing Haven, Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Kintamani Volcano View, Ulun Petanu Waterfall, and Tirta Empul Temple.

Starting the Private Bali Tour from Ubud

Morning Pickup from Maua Olea Ubud

The journey started at approximately 7:30 AM from Maua Olea Ubud.

Kadek arrived at the hotel to pick up the family and begin their private Bali tour. Starting early gave the family enough time to visit several destinations while still returning to their hotel in the afternoon.

Travelling with a private driver can be especially convenient for families with children because the itinerary can be managed according to their needs. There is no need to follow the schedule of a large group, and the family can enjoy a more personal travel experience.

From Maua Olea Ubud, the first destination was Swing Haven.

Family Adventure at Swing Haven

Children Enjoy the Swing Experience

The first stop was Swing Haven, where the children were excited to try the swing activity.

The children chose the swing package and enjoyed the experience while their parents could relax, take photographs, and enjoy the surrounding scenery.

This was a fun way to start the day because the children could enjoy an activity rather than spending the entire morning sightseeing.

The family finished their visit at approximately 9:00 AM and continued their journey toward Tegalalang Rice Terrace.

Exploring Tegalalang Rice Terrace

Walking Together Through the Rice Fields

The family arrived at Tegalalang Rice Terrace at approximately 10:00 AM.

Tegalalang is one of the most recognizable countryside landscapes in Bali, known for its traditional rice terraces and beautiful green surroundings.

The family spent approximately one and a half hours at the rice terrace, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM.

They walked together through the area, enjoyed the views, and took photographs of their family experience in Bali.

For families, this stop provides an opportunity to experience Bali’s traditional agricultural landscape while enjoying an outdoor walk.

A Relaxed Family Experience in Tegalalang

Rather than simply stopping for a quick photograph, the family had enough time to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere.

Having sufficient time at each destination is one of the advantages of arranging a private tour. The itinerary can be adjusted depending on the family’s interests and energy levels.

After finishing their visit at approximately 11:30 AM, Kadek continued driving toward Kintamani.

Enjoying the Kintamani Volcano View

Panoramic Mountain Scenery

The next destination was Kintamani Volcano View.

The family arrived at approximately 12:00 PM and spent around 30 minutes enjoying the scenery.

Kintamani is well known for its highland landscape and views toward the Mount Batur area. The mountain scenery provides a completely different atmosphere from the rice terraces around Ubud.

The family enjoyed the panoramic view and took some time to relax before continuing the journey.

A Short Scenic Stop Before the Afternoon Activities

The Kintamani stop lasted from approximately 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.

Although it was a shorter stop compared with Tegalalang, it gave the family an opportunity to appreciate one of Bali’s most famous volcanic landscapes.

After Kintamani, the tour continued toward Ulun Petanu Waterfall.

Discovering Ulun Petanu Waterfall

Enjoying Bali’s Natural Surroundings

The family reached Ulun Petanu Waterfall at approximately 1:30 PM.

They spent about one hour at the waterfall, from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM.

Ulun Petanu offered a peaceful natural environment surrounded by greenery. After visiting the rice terraces and mountain viewpoint earlier in the day, the waterfall provided a refreshing change of scenery.

The family had time to explore the area and enjoy the natural atmosphere before continuing to their final major destination.

A Peaceful Stop for the Whole Family

A waterfall visit can be a good addition to a family itinerary because it gives travellers the opportunity to experience another side of Bali’s natural landscape.

For this family, Ulun Petanu was one of the nature-focused stops during their Full Day Bali Tour from Ubud, complementing the rice terrace and Kintamani volcano experience earlier in the day.

After approximately one hour at the waterfall, the family continued to Tirta Empul Temple.

Visiting Tirta Empul Temple

Experiencing Balinese Culture

The final main destination of the day was Tirta Empul Temple.

The family arrived at approximately 3:00 PM and spent around one hour exploring the temple area.

Tirta Empul is known for its sacred spring water and is an important cultural and religious site in Bali. A visit here gives travellers an opportunity to learn more about Balinese traditions and temple architecture.

For the family, this stop added a cultural experience to a day that had already included nature, adventure, countryside scenery, and mountain views.

Respecting Local Temple Traditions

When visiting Balinese temples, visitors should respect local customs and follow the rules of the temple.

Appropriate clothing and respectful behaviour are important when entering sacred areas. Visitors should also follow any instructions provided by temple staff or local guides.

The family finished their visit at approximately 4:00 PM and then began their journey back to the hotel.

Returning to the Hotel

Completing the Full Day Bali Tour

After leaving Tirta Empul at approximately 4:00 PM, Kadek drove the family back to their accommodation.

They arrived at the hotel at approximately 4:30 PM, giving the family time to rest after a full day of exploring Bali.

From the first pickup at 7:30 AM until returning at 4:30 PM, the family enjoyed a diverse itinerary covering several different experiences.

Why a Private Bali Tour Is Good for Families

Flexible Timing for Parents and Children

One of the main advantages of a private Bali tour is flexibility.

Families can enjoy the destinations at their own pace and have a private vehicle throughout the journey. This can make a long sightseeing day more comfortable, especially when travelling with children.

A Driver Who Knows the Local Routes

Having a local driver can also make travelling between destinations easier.

For this tour, Kadek from our Bali Tour Drivers team managed the transportation between each destination and accompanied the family throughout their journey.

Our team has experience assisting international travellers with private tours, transfers, and sightseeing around Bali.

Combining Nature, Adventure and Culture

This itinerary was designed to provide different experiences throughout the day.

The children enjoyed the swing activity, the family explored the rice terraces, Kintamani provided mountain scenery, Ulun Petanu offered a natural waterfall experience, and Tirta Empul introduced the family to Balinese culture.

This combination makes a Full Day Bali Tour from Ubud suitable for travellers who want to see more than one type of attraction during their Bali holiday.
