Day 2 of a Bali holiday with a French family was a relaxing and enjoyable experience around Ubud. The family consisted of a husband and wife, one son, and one daughter. I am Komang from Bali Tour Drivers, and I personally accompanied the family throughout their second day in Bali.
After enjoying their first day of activities, the family wanted a more relaxed schedule for Day 2. We planned a private Ubud experience that combined sightseeing, local culture, lunch, family relaxation at their villa, swimming, and dinner in the Sebatu area.
The journey started at 10:00 AM from Villa Indayani Ubud and finished at approximately 8:50 PM, when I returned the family safely to their villa.
Starting the Day from Villa Indayani Ubud
10:00 AM – Private Pick-Up at Villa Indayani
I arrived at Villa Indayani Ubud at 10:00 AM to pick up the family.
Because they were traveling with two children, we kept the itinerary comfortable and flexible. Instead of starting very early and visiting many destinations in one day, we gave the family enough time to enjoy each place without feeling rushed.
After everyone was ready, we left Villa Indayani and headed towards Central Ubud.
Exploring Central Ubud
10:40 AM – Arriving in Central Ubud
We arrived in Central Ubud at approximately 10:40 AM.
Central Ubud is a popular area for visitors who want to experience the cultural and traditional side of Bali. The area has local markets, traditional architecture, art shops, restaurants, temples, and historical attractions.
For this family, Central Ubud was the perfect choice for a relaxed morning and afternoon experience.
Visiting Ubud Market
Our first activity was exploring Ubud Market.
The family enjoyed walking around the market and looking at different local products, handicrafts, souvenirs, clothing, and other items sold by local vendors.
Ubud Market is also a good place for visitors to experience the lively atmosphere of Central Ubud and look for souvenirs to take home.
As their private driver, I gave the family plenty of time to explore the market at their own pace, especially because they were traveling with children.
Visiting Ubud Palace
After exploring Ubud Market, the family continued to Ubud Palace, also known as Puri Saren Agung.
Ubud Palace is located in the heart of Ubud and is one of the area’s well-known cultural landmarks. The palace is known for its traditional Balinese architecture, decorative stone carvings, gates, courtyards, and cultural heritage.
The family enjoyed walking around the palace area and taking photographs.
For children, visiting Ubud Palace can also be an interesting cultural experience because they can see traditional Balinese architecture and learn more about the local culture during their holiday.
Lunch and Free Time in Central Ubud
Enjoying Lunch in Ubud
After visiting Ubud Market and Ubud Palace, the family enjoyed lunch in the Central Ubud area.
They took their time to enjoy their meal and relax after walking around the town.
The family spent approximately 10:40 AM until 2:30 PM in Central Ubud. During this time, they explored the area, visited the market and palace, and enjoyed lunch.
This relaxed schedule worked particularly well for a family traveling with children.
Why Free Time Is Important for Family Travel
When traveling with children, having free time between activities can make the holiday much more enjoyable.
A Bali itinerary does not always need to include many attractions in one day. Spending several hours in one area allows parents and children to enjoy the destination without constantly watching the clock.
For this family, the time spent in Central Ubud was followed by a relaxing afternoon at their villa.
Afternoon Relaxation at Villa Indayani
2:30 PM – Returning to the Villa
At approximately 2:30 PM, we left Central Ubud and returned to Villa Indayani.
After spending several hours exploring Ubud, the family decided to take a break at the villa.
They had time to relax, spend time together, and enjoy swimming at the villa.
Relaxing and Swimming with the Family
The afternoon break was an important part of their Day 2 itinerary.
For families with children, having some time to return to the accommodation can provide an opportunity to rest and recharge before continuing with evening activities.
Rather than staying on the road all day, the family could enjoy a few peaceful hours at their villa before getting ready for dinner.
Evening Dinner at Pondok Sebatu Restaurant
6:30 PM – Evening Pick-Up
At 6:30 PM, I returned to Villa Indayani to pick up the family for their evening dinner.
Our destination was Pondok Sebatu Restaurant in the Sebatu area.
After their afternoon break and swimming, the family was ready to continue their evening activity.
7:00 PM – Arriving at Pondok Sebatu Restaurant
We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 7:00 PM.
The family then enjoyed their dinner and spent some quality time together.
After a relaxed day exploring Central Ubud and resting at their villa, dinner in Sebatu was a comfortable way to end their activities.
The family finished their dinner at approximately 8:30 PM.
Returning to Villa Indayani
8:50 PM – End of the Day
After dinner, we left Pondok Sebatu Restaurant and headed back to Villa Indayani Ubud.
We arrived at the villa at approximately 8:50 PM.
This marked the end of their second day in Bali with Bali Tour Drivers.
The day included a combination of cultural sightseeing, local shopping, lunch, family relaxation, swimming, and dinner, while still maintaining a comfortable pace.
Why a Relaxed Ubud Tour Is Great for Families
Comfortable Travel for Parents and Children
Families traveling with children often benefit from a flexible itinerary.
This Day 2 itinerary allowed the family to enjoy Central Ubud during the day, return to their villa for several hours of relaxation and swimming, and then continue with dinner in Sebatu.
The schedule was not overly busy, allowing everyone to enjoy the day comfortably.
The Benefits of a Private Driver in Bali
A private driver gives families greater flexibility during their Bali holiday.
Instead of following a fixed group schedule, families can enjoy their destinations at their own pace. They can also include rest periods when needed.
As the driver for this family, I personally handled their transportation throughout the day, from Villa Indayani to Central Ubud, back to the villa, and then to Sebatu for dinner before returning them to their accommodation.
Local Experience from Bali Tour Drivers
As a local Bali driver, I understand that every family has different travel preferences.
Some families prefer a full itinerary with many attractions, while others prefer a slower and more relaxing experience.
For this French family, Day 2 was designed around a balance of sightseeing, family time, relaxation, and dining.
This personal experience is one of the reasons why working with a local private driver can make a Bali holiday easier and more comfortable.
